Are Swedish People Not Racists?

This will come in 4 Parts and I will make my stand known at the end so don't presume you know that I am saying that Swedish people are racists and don't presume I am not.

I write this because i have lived in Sweden for a longer while both as an active and passive observer. 

The Swedish people are, in many ways, wonderful people likewise the Swedish government. Until the end of last year (2010), Sweden remained one of the countries in the world that offer free studies to foreigners. The recent publications of the Swedish immigrations office also suggests that Sweden is one of the countries with highest refugees intakes. The list is on and on and on. 

The question however is, are these few actions and many not written enough to exonerate one country from racism? Of course yes and know.

People will ask; if Swedish people are racists why not go back to your country? Of course this is a strong argument and more reasonable one if there are no Swedish people living and doing business outside Sweden. It is not about complaining but about pointing out what should be made better since we claim that we are one people.

There is no need looking the other way when in 2010, 20 people (17.45/ of the parliament) from a party well know for its stands on racism were elected to the Swedish parliament. This is the climax but its not the whole thing going on. Of course no one should ignore the outcry of the fair minded Swedish who saw this new wave as outrageous. 

Few days before this same election, I engaged few of the candidates for the Municipal offices in an argument as regards their Party's manifesto, which is, a holistic integration according to the law irrespective of origin or country. Among the questions they have no answers to is thus; ' why do foreigners find it almost impossible to get apartments at the Centrums'? This is a general question. Go to Stockholm and you have Rynkeby, go to Nyköping and you have Brandkärr, go to Blekings and you have Mogadishu and on and on. 

Of course they feigned ignorant of it but are they really ignorant? 

I am one of those who defend this country in regard to fairness to foreigners but I write this because what has to be know has to be known so that others will make their own judgment in clear minds and terms. 

Sweden is one of the countries in Europe that have the highest number of immigrant graduates and professionals who are cleaners yet most of them believe that foreigners are here to take money from the Swedish Social care. In 2008 I was interviewed by Nyköpings Tidnings on my view about foreigners and job in Sweden. One of my answers was that a lot are wrong with a system that will make it difficult for you to get cleaning job because you speak little Swedish (du kan lite svenska) while a lot of people have more than three jobs. And in conclusion I said to my interviewer 'If Swedish people don't need immigrants, then they reserve the right to close their embassies abroad and other people's embassies in Sweden.

Recently, a man from Malmo in Southern Sweden, who is suspected of having been shooting foreigner for a period of almost 3 years was arrested by the Swedish police. Come back next time and find out what actions being considered to be taken agains him.
